Sometimes you accidentally stumble across those hidden gems

When I'm in an area and the smell of Chinese food is in the air I just can't help myself. As I was done taking care of some business I stumbled across this place on my way to ANOTHER Chinese restaurant that was a few blocks down from this one. From the reviews and photos this place seemed like a better deal (it was also already open while the other one wasn't going to open for another twenty minutes) so I took a chance.

"It's as if they served me my dreams on a platter."

I ended up ordering the orange chicken lunch and a tasty clay pot. I was going to order some other exotic menu items, but the staff suggested I didn't as they took a very long time to prepare. Still, just what I ordered ended up taking at least half an hour to forty-five minutes and I was the only one in the restaurant! I ended up ordering a hot & sour soup and nursed it until the actual food came.

The orange chicken here is fantastic. I would describe the orange chicken as perfectly cooked, drenched in real orange sauce, delectable with a mouth watering presentation. It's as if they served me my dreams on a platter. Fried rice could use some work though as there was not enough flavor to it and seemed to be rather rushed. The crab rangoon & egg roll were pretty tasty as well.

They serve liquor here as well so grabbed me a Singapore sling which was delicious as well. They do have large party packages on the menu as well so if you want to dine here with a group they have you covered (although it's advised you call at least a couple of hours ahead.)

"This place gushes with the essence of the Chinese restaurants that defined the 80s & 90s, especially in film all the way down to the Mahogany chairs and gold figurines."

Tasty Cuisine's decor is nice although you can tell they didn't spend much to impress anyone. This place gushes with the essence of the Chinese restaurants that defined the 80s & 90s, especially in film all the way down to the Mahogany chairs and gold figurines.

If you want good, traditional American Chinese food, this is the place to be. I'll definitely come back to this place time and time again!
